800-I-CAN-WIN is available in exclusive markets for lawyers. 800-I-CAN-WIN is the only vanity phone number I have seen which is ethical because it does not imply that either the lawyer or the potential client will win. Obviously, CAN does not mean WILL.

Almost all other vanity phone numbers using the word WIN are unethical because they imply a result. In fact, the ABA published an article warning lawyers about using unethical vanity phone numbers and domain names which imply a result, such as WIN. Additionally, a lawyer using a vanity phone number or domain name which implies a result, can be sued for malpractice if a case is lost. A lawyer in Denver lost such a malpractice lawsuit.
